In the winter of 1900/01 Max (1874-1945) and Otto Meyerhof (1884-1951) set off on their first journey to Egypt: "Zur Kur an den Nil". While traveling - from Alexandria to Cairo, and the renowned spa Helwan, and further on south to Luxor and Aswan - they immerse deeply into the exotic orient. The diary describes in an entertaining way, how they get to know the country and its people, make friends, marvel at the pharaonic and other monuments, and finally return home enriched by manifold impressions.<br />
